This product is easy to assemble without any modifications to the GMG! It takes less than 5 minutes to detach chimney and assemble the downdraft!

I ordered the downdraft for the sole purpose of enhancing the smoke taste of my briskets.. and it does just that.. the smoke hangs out longer in the smoker at grate level.. I wouldnt hesitate to recomend this product.. I havnt noticed a reduction in pellets though.. But thats not why i bought the downdraft.. I wanted more smoke.. And it delivers just that.. As far as quality, its pretty heavy duty.. And install was a breeze.. A must have for pellet smokers

I have had the downdraft on my GMG JB for a couple of months now, I wanted to fully evaluate it before I wrote the review. I can tell you with out a doubt that my pellet consumption is less than half of what it use to be, my temperatures are more consistent across the grates and I am getting a deeper smoke ring than I was before. Install was easy and operation is even easier. If your on the fence on spending the money you will make that back on pellet savings alone. I highly recommend it.

Received mine last week. It was a quick install. Cooked it off and then cooked burgers and chicken thighs. Great smoke taste and used a lot less pellets over the two hour cook.
Only one recommendation: Make the tab that opens and closes the door a bit larger. Mine arrived very tight and in trying to close it the sharp stainless cut my finger pretty good. For sure my error in not using pliers or loosening it up a bit but one of those "I am strong enough to do it" and I cut myself. A bigger tab and easier to grip.
All in all a great product and very easy to install and use.

Went from a ghetto dryer vent down draft tube to the DG I was skeptical at first but the DG is a well made upgrade for the grill. GMG should fit them to all grills out of the box!
It fits great and looks like part of the grill. I like the adjustable vent for high temps. It saves pellets and helps with flavor. Also helps with the grease dripping from the exhaust problem everyone has.

Cooked for well over 12 hours in one day at cooking temps from 200-250* and used just over half a hopper of pellets in 90* heat!
