    Install was a breeze, the device is well made and fits perfectly, it will likely outlast the grill!
    
    I don’t really track pellet use, but I can confirm temps even, left to right, upper and lower shelves, and a boost in flavor.
    
    For the reasonable cost, and minimal time and effort to get it up and running, this seems like a no brainer for anyone looking to take things up another notch.

11. Game Changer for Pellet Smokeds

    I have a RecTec Rt700 and a Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett with these downdrafts. They fit perfectly and install in minutes well worth the money. If you like a little more smoke than your pellet grill is offering this is your ticket to great bark on your next Brisket or Pork Butt

12. Great Addition To My DB!

    Did my first long smoke with the downdraft. 7 hours at 225 degrees. Normally I’d have to add pellets during this time but went the whole time on one hopper full with some to spare!

13. GMG Davy Crockett Downdraft user

    Just purchased it and used it for two cooks. I had very, very, very uneven temperatures in the Davy Crockett pellet grill previously. I use it almost exclusively for smoking so I don't have to get out the large water smoker for small meals/cooks. Previously, while I love the grill, I had near 100 degree differences on one side of the grill vs. the other (which is crazy given the overall relatively small size of the grill). Having used it twice now and measuring temps with both traditional and infrared thermometers on both sides of the grill, I have near-uniform temps inside the entire grill. There was about 10 degrees difference in one side versus the other side on my last cook. So that almost completely solved my issue. And while I have only used it twice so far, it does seem (just eyeballing it) that the grill uses less pellets than previous uses required too. I need more time to verify that, but if true, it will pay for itself fairly quickly. In all - while early days - I am very satisfied.

14. Just enough smoke!

    My DC just didn’t give me the smoke I wanted so thought I’d try this after reading the reviews. I love it! Gives me just he right amount of smoke at 1/2 open! A must have!

15. Amazing addition

    I recently bought the Godke’s down draft for my Dave Crockett pellet smoker. I was truly amazed that it coupled with the installation of a thermal cover reduced my cooking time and pellet consumption by half. What took me almost 5 hours previous only took 2 1/2 hours this cook. All things being equal the conditions were not exact on both occasions, but the similarities were enough to make a drastic difference.
    The downdraft was easily installed with the detailed instructions provided, packaged and constructed professionally. I look forward to my next cook, whereas previously I missed the “supper timing” which made the Mrs. fairly unhappy, she can be rest assured that doesn’t happen again thanks to Don Godke’s downdraft system.
