1. awesome upgrade

   Tried it for the first time cooking a 10lb turkey for thanksgiving. The downdraft helped with a consistent temperature thruout the cooking surface so no need to rotate or move the turkey while it was cooking. The build quality is also excellent and it fit my grill well.

   Can tell the difference in heat distribution on the first cook, no more shuffling food around because of hot spots. Also noticed less pellet usage! Awesome product and excellent customer service!!

   I own a DC, just tried the downdraft for the first time. Cook was 250 at 9 hours, only used 1/4 of the hoppers pellets!!! Would have used 50-75% before, also got the best smoke ring Ive ever had on the DC. Highly recommend!

4. A must-have upgrade

   I was having heat minor consistency issues with my Trek so added the Downdraft this last week after a friend recommended it and wow- what an improvement! Deeper (and more consistent) smoke penetration, far more stable temperatures, and much thriftier on pellets. I highly recommend adding a Downdraft to your GMG grill if you want to get the best performance, and results.

6. Worth Every Penny For My Davy Crockett

   I am a new Davy Crockett owner and bought a Don Godke’s Downdraft after reading recommendations for them on a Green Mountain Grills Facebook group. I had smoked ribs on my DC once before I received the Downdraft. That time, the smoker used almost an entire hopper of pellets, set at 225 for 6 hours. I did another set of ribs yesterday, this time with the Downdraft. The ribs had a smokier flavor and my pellet hopper was down only a couple of inches from where I filled it to prior to the cook. I highly recommend the Downdraft – it was very easy to install and I am a girl who doesn’t know the business end of a socket wrench and is not handy at all. I had it installed in about 5 minutes. The difference in pellet usage from before the Downdraft and after will pay for the Downdraft in no time at all. It was worth every penny, in my opinion.

7. Fantastic material and build quality

   I am really happy with the DG Downdraft. The materials and build quality are impressive. The stainless nuts and bolts made assembly a snap and glad those won't be rusting up. I like the butterfly valve to fine tune smoke and heat flow. Thanks for a great product Don!

8. Downdraft Green Mountain Davie Crockett Review

   I've used the downdraft twice now. My grill Temps were way off regarding what it said on the LED and the inside of the grill. I forgot both times to adjust my heat shield, however I did monitor the Temps. With no adjustment to the heat shield my grill Temps were 15 degrees off across the board. Any experienced Cooker knows that you usually have to consistently monitor the Temps. It was easy to adjust and correct this obviously. I'm sure next cook Temps will be spot on. The final products came out perfecto! Regarding the install a child could do it easily. Looks good can't wait for more cooks.
