Great addition to the GMG

It was super easy to install and on the first cook I already noticed decreased pellet use and a deeper more consistent smoke ring. I am very happy with the quality and ease of use of this product and can't wait to use it even more!

Didnt think you could improve the original

Had the original downdraft on a GMG Jim Bowie that didn’t come with me when relocating to different state.
Replaced that grill with a Daniel Boone and it just wasn’t up to snuff. Wife mentioned that I didn’t have the ‘triangle thing’ like the last one. Looked him up again and bought the one with with the built in vent. Now I can remove the drippy vent cap AND get the smoke at meat level vs wafting over it.
I’m happy to report that a week of grilling, my much loved gmg grill is performing just like my old one did. Evened out my hot spots, evenly smoked food, and not a drip on the side tray.

Easy to install, easy to use, hard to get the best and most smoke without. This literally forces the smoke onto your food. Well worth the investment and a quality upgrade for the GMG line!

Quality product & easy install. Don is very knowledgeable, always willing to share his experiences and continue the smoker learning. Living local allowed me to pick up same day.
Very pleased with consistent heat flow across grill, pellet reduction and ease of use. Definitely recommend!

Received the Downdraft while on vacation (of course I would) so I couldn’t instal and review right away. Installation was very quick and easy. Did my burn in for an hour and now I’m doing my first cook. Trying pork belly burnt ends at 250 deg. and the first thing I’m noticing is that the auger is not running as much and it appears to be holding more smoke in the cooking chamber. That in turn relates to less pellets being used. The quality of the metal is very strong as well. So far I’m liking the Downdraft. Thank you Don.

Based on initial tests with my GMG Daniel Boone Prime, this product works as advertised. I love being able to further control the smoke and the added benefit of even grill temps (possibly lower pellet consumption as well). This is truly a great product and well thought-out. I highly recommend getting one; you won’t be disappointed! The installation was also very simple and the included instructions were very straight-forward. I was up and running in a couple of minutes and I think it looks great in my grill. The product itself arrived before the estimated shipping timeframe, so that was a pleasant surprise, given the current COVID-19 situation.
